Business Strategy for Architects and Designers in Challenging Times

Rowley Mossop, Innovia Partners

Today’s uncertain environment brings a number of unique business challenges. Navigating through this storm can be particularly difficult for architects and designers, who are seldom trained in managing a small enterprise. This webinar introduces the pillars of an architectural business at a high level - from marketing to finance - and shows how they work together to contribute to success. As an aspect of how to manage a practice, we will focus on the impact of the current situation on strategy in each of the pillars.

At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
  • name five pillars of a successful, mid size architectural practice,
  • articulate the basic criteria for good performance in each of the five pillars, and
  • describe how each pillar contributes to creative and business success.

Rowley leads Innovia by providing clients with the insight and strategy they need to make transformation happen. Rowley founded Innovia in 2004 after his career as an editorial leader with The National at CBC TV News during the transformation from traditional broadcast journalism to the online media landscape of today. His background in the disciplines of business, media, design, and architecture informs Innovia’s unique approach to the challenges and potential of creative businesses.

Rowley is a Rotman MBA, holds a diploma from the Ontario College of Art and Design, and has a B.E.S. (Architecture) from the University of Waterloo.

Registered attendees will receive a personalized link to the webinar on October 12, 2020.
